Russian Nature Reserves and National Parks Day

In January 2026, the Zapovedny Quiz was held in honour of the All-Russian Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks under the auspices of the Nevsky International Ecological Congress, which sets the agenda for addressing critical environmental issues and shaping the paths for sustainable development in Russia. The Nevsky International Ecological Congress is organized by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. The operator for the preparation and holding of the event is the Roscongress Foundation.

The Zapovedny Quiz was held by 78 federal state budgetary institutions for special protected natural areas in various regions of the Russian Federation, with more than 9,000 people taking part in the event.

The questions were designed for a wide audience and focused on the activities of protected areas. The game consisted of four thematic rounds that included 32 questions, divided into the following topics: “The System of Protected Areas”, “Animals”, “Nature”, and “Heritage”.
