I am happy to welcome the participants and guests
of the Third Nevsky International Ecological Congress.

In a short period of time your forum has not only become a tradition but also gained the reputation of an authoritative and representative place for a thorough discussion over urgent environmental problems and tasks. It is important that your meeting considers the issues of preservation of the flora and the fauna, development of power efficient and sources-saving technologies, and stimulation of trans-border cooperation in complex and with participation of the leading experts, scientists and public figures from many countries.

I am confident that fruitful discussion in the framework of the Congress will let us enhance the effectiveness of our environmental work — both at the international and national levels.

I wish the participants and guests of the Congress interesting and substantial discussions, further success and all the best.
